The top of Roraima is desolate and rocky, but it is home to a variety of plant and animal species which do not exist anywhere else on the planet.

Crystals like these are scattered everywhere, and not so long ago lay side by side with gold nuggets and diamonds. Once visitors started making trips to Roraima about 30 years ago these quickly began to disapear. Now there are thorough bag inspections upon exiting the park.

An interactive map of our route to date. Our Google map account seems to be a little overloaded now so to see our entire route click "View Josh and Laura's Journey in a larger map." You may alternatively click and drag this mini map to see where we are now. While our photos are typically months behind we tend to keep the map relatively current.
