To the Ends of the Earth: Ushuaia

Ushuaia's penal colony was modeled after Tasmania's and its prison housed Argentina's most dangerous criminals and re-offenders from 1896 up until 1947. It was then used as part of a naval base, but today it's a museum! It now houses one room full of model ships and is officially called the Maritime Museum, but there are also several art exhibits as well as stuffed penguins, seals and native birds in glass cases, not to mention all sorts of historical displays on prisons around the world.
