We decided to take full advantage of New Zealand's adventure-tourism and arrived in Waitomo just in time for the last scheduled inner-tubing-down-an-underground-river tour. Luckily for us, no one else was signed up for this last time slot of the day, so it was just us and our guide!
The country was in the midst of a cold-snap when we arrived, with temperatures at record lows, so we headed north in search of warm weather! The historic town of Russell was our first stop.
