Skiing in Canada in July?? We returned to Canada expecting to escape the cold Tasmanian winter in exchange for a lovely, Vancouver Island summer, but that was not what we got! Temperatures were at record lows for the time of year, and it had been such a cold spring that Mt Washington actually opened for skiing over the Canada Day long weekend!
Josh and Lynda could not miss out on this rare summertime skiing/boarding opportunity!

Trip to Bangalow and Byron Bay
In March 2011 we flew up to Gold Coast for Josh's cousin's wedding in lovely little Bangalow, near the famous (and very touristy) Byron Bay.
The day after the wedding, we visited Bangalow's amazing open-air market and sampled raw-food movement goodies as well as lots of beautiful local fruits, and maybe just one freshly-made waffle!

Carrot Harvest Extravaganza!
More bounty:
This was our one and only capsicum (or bell pepper, for you North American readers).
And, just for fun, another pavlova:
I can't remember anymore, but I think we were given or came across all these berries for a very good price. Fresh berries are normally very expensive in Australia (blueberries obscenely so...think $8.99 for a 150g punnet!), so this was total luxury!
Nanny was very impressed!
