Aidan choreographed and did the headlamp writing in this shot, and Josh is standing over to the right of the tent, though you can't see him very well. This was our lovely camping spot on the shores of the Mackintosh Dam. It was the nearest place to Cradle Mountain we could find to free-camp, and was not really all that close. I think we got up at about 5 the next morning in order to have enough time to drive to Cradle Mountain and do a full day hike!
We met this guy from Japan on our way up the mountain, and he asked if he could walk with us (I guess we looked pretty serious with our gaiters and the rope strapped to the back of Josh's pack). We shared our lunch with him because he hadn't brought any food, and then on the way down, his shoes literally fell apart! Luckily, we had some duct tape in our giant pack!
Welcome to our travel blog. Our amazing trip through Latin America came to an end in December 2009 and we are currently living in Australia. However, we will continue to publish posts every few days until we are caught up.

An interactive map of our route to date. Our Google map account seems to be a little overloaded now so to see our entire route click "View Josh and Laura's Journey in a larger map." You may alternatively click and drag this mini map to see where we are now. While our photos are typically months behind we tend to keep the map relatively current.
