San Miguel de Allende

We are currently in sunny Barbados and we have covered a lot of ground since our last update in Guanajuato. In early January we head to Trinidad and Tobago and from there we plan to enter Venezuela and make our way south into Brazil. The following post is a weekend trip we made to visit some friends in San Miguel while we were still in Guanajuato. Internet is becoming more of a challenge so from now on our posts will likely be few and far between. It is also likely that they will contain less photos. Happy holidays to everyone!

This is what happens when you try to hold a carnival in a narrow colonial street. No guard rails here. If you are stupid enough to get in the way of this spinning wheel of fun then that is unfortunate for you.

We got up three mornings in a row to see the balloons launch. The first morning we got up at 4:45 caught a cab and waited around for hours just to be told that it was too windy. The second day we arrived 15 minutes too late and missed them all, but on the third day it was all worthwhile....
